I talk to buyers all the time who think all welded wire fences are basically the same, and then they get frustrated when a cheaper panel bends easily or rusts at the welds. The truth is, the gauge of the wire and the size of the mesh openings determine about 80 percent of how well that fence performs. For wire thickness, 4mm to 5mm is what I recommend for most security applications—thinner than that and the welds can break if someone puts weight on it or hits it with a vehicle. For mesh openings, 50x100mm is the sweet spot because its small enough to resist climbing but large enough to keep the panel rigid; if you go to 50x200mm you save a bit on material but you lose some anti-climb performance, and if you go to 25x100mm like in 358 mesh you get maximum security but higher cost.

Material wise, hot-dip galvanized is standard, but if you are installing near a coast or in an industrial area with chemicals, I strongly suggest PVC coated over galvanized—the coating adds an extra barrier and gives you color options like green, black, or gray that blend better. Performance comes down to how the panels are welded too; high quality panels use automatic welding machines that create consistent welds without burning through the zinc coating, which is a common failure point on cheaper imports. For customization, we can cut panels to exact heights, add 45 degree angles for sloping ground, or even fabricate custom gates that match the panel pattern so the whole fence looks seamless. One thing that surprises people is that freight cost often matters more than panel price when ordering overseas; shipping 20 foot containers filled with flat panels is efficient, but if you are ordering panels that are 2.5 meters tall they take up more space, so sometimes it makes sense to adjust dimensions to fit container optimization.

The bottom line is, pay attention to gauge and opening size, ask about weld quality, and match your coating to your environment, and you will get a fence that lasts.
